Nelson Guillén Bello
Presidente del Instituto Dominicano de Telecomunicaciones (INDOTEL),
Mr. Guillen was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indotel in April 2019.
Prior to his election, he has acquired a vast experience on a variety of senior management positions at INDOTEL such as Member of the Board of Directors for the last 7 years.
Born in San Cristobal, in the south of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Guillen studied law, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pontificia Universidad Católica, Madre y Maestra (PUCMM, 2017) and he also graduated as an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the prestigious Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC, 2006). He holds two Masters Degrees in Telecommunications Administration and Data Telecommunications.
In April 2010, he obtained another Master’s degree: “Master of Science in Information Systems” -Specialization in Telecommunications Administration- at the Stevens Institute of Technology International, and at the same time he was certified as a Cisco Network Professional instructor at the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA).
During those years, Mr. Guillen has also taught a series of courses related to technology applied to education, being part of the faculty staff of the Loyola Institute of Higher Studies, in San Cristobal, and conducted other technical workshops for INDOTEL technicians.
In addition to his administrative experience at INDOTEL, Guillen Bello has proven a complete mastery of technical skills such as protocols and standards of telecommunications, as well as the tools currently operating in the industry.
Mr. Guillen is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
As Chairman of the Board of Directors of INDOTEL, he is committed to ensure compliance with all the regulations regarding the telecommunications sector, as well as the protection of the users’ rights in the telecommunications sector.
