Head of Latin America, GSMA
Javier is the Director of GSMA regional office in Latin America, based in Buenos Aires. He is in charge of designing and implementing the general strategy of the association at a regional level, leading the efforts made by the public policy, innovation, technology, and marketing teams. He is responsible for representing the GSMA to mobile operators, governments, regulators, and stakeholders from related industries across the region.
Before joining the GSMA, Javier served as Google’s Commercial Director for 7 years, leading the development of telecommunications, travel and government industries in Argentina and LATAM. Throughout his career, with over 25 years of experience, he contributed from the business area to the consolidation of emerging technology sectors in Latin America, from hardware to software, and from telecommunications to the media, Internet and digital advertising. He worked with companies like IBM, Startel, MetroRED and Grupo Clarín.
Javier has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, granted by Universidad del Salvador (Argentina), and has taken a Kellogg on Marketing in the Kellogg School of Management from the Northwestern University (United States).
