The seventh edition of the Latin American Telecommunications Congress – CLT 2019 will be held in Argentina for the first time. The city of Córdoba will convene the most important executives from the telecommunications ecosystem, ministers and regulators from the industry, international organizations and outstanding academics of the region.

Digital Economy in Latin America and Public Policies for Innovation, as well as Competition in the Era of Convergence will be some of the main areas of the CLT 2019 agenda. Workshops and meetings are also planned, making this event a successful one for all attendees.

With the Modernization Government Secretariat, Republic of Argentina as our host, we hopefully trust this new edition of the CLT will be as successful as the previous ones, and we encourage the actors of the industry to take part and share their opinions and experiences to enrich the discussions and work on a collaborative agenda to improve and reinforce the Latin American digital ecosystem.

We look forward to seeing you in Córdoba!

2019 CLT Organizing Committee.

Secretary of Information Technology and Communications
Modernization Government Secretariat

Dear participants:

It is an honor for me, on behalf of the Modernization Government Secretariat of the Argentine Republic, to welcome the 2019 Latin American Telecommunications Congress.

We are honored to have been chosen to host this 7th edition, especially in a year where discussions and definitions on the future of ICT are to be found, related to spectrum management.

That is why we hope that in this event, where the most important references of the sector are gathered, we will contribute to this discussion and allow us to reflect on the aspects presented by the digital ecosystem, as well as to identify the possibilities that new technologies give us, particularly artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain to improve the functioning of the public administration, production and above all the quality of life of the people, without neglecting the risks and ethical challenges that arise specially in the field of privacy and automated decisions.

Through dialogue with all the parties that make up the sector, we can design innovative public policies, define priorities for research and development, establish new business models and investments that contribute to the fulfilment of our objective to have everyone connected, a necessary condition but not enough to participate fully in the digital world.

As a representative of the host country, I would like to invite ministers and regulators, representatives of international and regional organizations, references from the industry, academia and experts in general, to come to the city of Córdoba to participate in the Congress, and thus contribute to the development of ICT as an instrument of integral growth for our communities.
