The Latin American Telecommunications Congress arrives in Cuba for the first time in June 2018
From the 11th to the 15th of June, Varadero shall be the seat of the sixth edition of the CLT, the Congress that gathers on an annual basis the main actors of the Latin American Digital Ecosystem.
With Cuba as its venue, the Latin American Telecommunications Congress 2018 (CLT18) shall take place from the 11 to 15 of June at Meliá Marina Varadero hotel. CLT18 is the most important annual event for discussing public policies on ICTs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The agenda shall go through subjects such as the development of the digital economy in Latin America, public policies to promote innovation and competence in the convergence era, the new investment mechanisms in broadband infrastructure and public-private cooperation to achieve sustainable models in the digital industry, among others.
Additionally, there will be different parallel events such as CPR LATAM Conference (the academic network seeking to exchange best practices and ideas on ICT policies), different workshops and working sessions, which will enrich the event even more.
This way, Cuba will become, in June 2018, the scenario for the most relevant discussion on telecommunications in Latin America. CLT18 organization is led by the United Nations International Telecommunications Union (UIT), CAF –Development Bank for Latin America, the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET) and other global organizations of the mobile eco system. The Ministry of Communications of Cuba and the Telecommunications Company of Cuba, ETECSA, will act as hosts, while Colombia, host of the CLT in 2017, will be the guest country. In addition, just as in prior editions, this year the Congress will have again the support by Internet organizations such as ICANN, Internet Society and LACNIC. We also highlight the special cooperation by CEPAL and eLAC who will actively participate of the agenda of this great event.
