Verena Weber is an Economist at the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation. She has more than a decade of experience working with the OECD on topics relating to the Digital Economy with a current focus on infrastructure and communication policy. Her current work focuses on country reviews as well as the analysis of market trends in the Digital Economy, including topics such as developments in communication infrastructure, convergence, network neutrality, cloud computing, demand-side innovation and ICTs for development. Recent projects she has worked on include the OECD Telecommunication and Broadcasting Review of Mexico, the OECD LAC Broadband Toolkit and the OECD Digital Economy Outlook 2017, with responsibilities ranging from project management to drafting.
Between 2014 and 2015 she worked as an Internet Governance Advisor to the ICT Minister Diego Molano and the head of the Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC) in Colombia where she developed an Internet governance strategy. She also served as a country representative on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ (ICANN) Government Advisory Committee (GAC) and is a past representative of the OECD to the Internet Governance Forum.
