GENERAL DIRECTOR MEDIATELECOM
Jorge Fernando in one of the most outstanding analysts of the telecommunications sector in Latin America. He has a degree in Law by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Professor of State Theory, Administrative Law, Public Law Institutions and Communication Law at the UNAM Law School; the Instituto Autónomo de México (ITAM), the Law School of La Salle University abd the Communication School of the Universidad Anáhuac del Sur.
His academic and professional activity is developed around the Communications Law and Regulations, Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Cultural Policy. He has been invited to speak about these subjects in Brazil, Spain, Germany, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile, China, Sweden and Argentina, among other countries.
He is a resident columnist of the newspaper Reforma in Mexico. He has written in Forbes and in La República of Colombia; he has published articles on the matter in the Revista Mexicana de Derecho Privado, Revista Mexicana de Derecho y Cultura, the “Cuadernos” of the UNAM’s Juridical Investigations Institute and on the website specialized in telecommunications, Mediatelecom.
He has been participating in the markets MIPCOM, MIP-TV, MEDIANET, Mobile Congress (Barcelona), Futurecom (Brazil) and MIDEM on copyright, music, television, telecommunications and new technologies.
He is the General Director of Grupo Mediatelecom, made of by the specialized agency Mediatelecom and the consulting firm, Mediatelecom Policy & Law, one of the most influential firms in Mexico and Latin America on public policies and Telecommunications and Information Technologies. He has been the President of the Mexican Association of the Right to Information, AMEDI.
